In December 2024, GI Contracting proudly handed over the British Council’s new headquarters at Lancaster Luminaire, a Grade A building with LEED Silver certification in Hanoi. Spanning 1,800m², this state-of-the-art training center is equipped with cutting-edge teaching technologies, setting a new benchmark for world-class language education spaces in Vietnam.
International Standard Classrooms
Designed by Geyer/Union Architect, the project strictly adheres to the British Council‘s classroom standards, ensuring the integration of cutting-edge teaching equipment and high acoustic performance for optimal sound quality. All classrooms feature aluminum-framed soundproof glass partitions and doors meeting noise reduction standards above 45dB, effectively minimizing external disturbances.
The non-glare multi-purpose writing boards, combined with short-throw projectors, eliminate visibility issues caused by reflections, creating an ideal environment for teaching and learning. Additionally, acoustic panels made from recycled materials not only enhance aesthetics but also contribute to a dynamic, engaging, and inspiring learning atmosphere. The ergonomically designed desks and chairs ensure flexibility for diverse teaching methods while providing comfort for students and teachers alike.
Harmonized Auxiliary Spaces, Premium Experience
The reception area, hallways, and waiting rooms are designed to provide a premium, Western-style educational experience. A minimalist design approach, complemented by signature accent colors from the British Council’s visual identity, results in a cohesive and modern architectural language.
The meticulous selection of high-quality materials, including Elastron fabric upholstery, Tarkette vinyl flooring, and Actiu seating, combined with high color-rendering lighting, enhances the perception of an upscale and refined learning environment. As a result, visitors and students can truly appreciate the value of a top-tier World-standard educational space.
